In Math today we continued our investigation on
sorting and looked at the most “efficient” or best way to count. Students used familiar strategies such as counting by 1’a, grouping by 5’s or 10’s, using 10-frames or 100's charts to
organize their items. We asked students to explain their answers and thinking
in pictures numbers and words.
We explored an excellent opportunity to ask
questions and wonder about animals in our geographic area. Mrs. Daniels found a
deer antler near her house and brought it in for the students to look at. So
many questions and learning around when deer loose their antlers, what they are
made of, why do they loose them etc.
In Gym we started gymnastics and practiced
moving like animals, very fun!
