Today we practiced our evacuation drill.  We did a great job at lining up and exiting the school in a responsible fashion.  We walked all the way to the new school up the hill! Great job everyone. We will be practicing an a lockdown drill on Tomorrow.  We went on a shape hunt in Math and we looked at What’s worth saving in Inquiry.

Reminders:

-No School for students this Friday September 23^rd – student centered conferences.

-Please register for your student centered conference on Thursday September 22^nd and Friday September 23^rd. Please check the Royal Oak website under your account for sign up times. Looking forward to seeing you all there and getting to know you and your child a little better.

-Iris logins will be (or already did if you are in Ms. Dayne’s class) going home this week.  Parents will receive these if you are in Mrs. Daniel’s class at your conference.

- Please complete and return Blue forms to help us get to know your child a little better. Please complete these forms with your child and return to school as soon as possible. Thank you

A note from the ROS fundraising Society:

Attention parents!  Your child will likely come home excited to sell more ADmazing Coupon books to your friends and family!  There is a friendly competition going on among classes for the most books sold, and the most students returning orders, which will result in some great classroom prizes.  There will also be individual student prizes awarded, and every book order is an entry!  Please remember that the deadline for orders is Thursday, September 22nd, so send your orders in as soon as possible.  Cheques may be made payable to Royal Oak School Fundraising Society (or ROSFS)!   All orders will be collected and fulfilled by the Fundraising Society and will be sent home with your students within two days!  All questions can be directed to ROSFundraisingSociety@gmail.com  Have a great weekend, and Happy Selling!

-Hug & Go volunteers needed.  Hug & Go was officially up and running this week.  We in are need of volunteers who could help with Hug & Go from 8:30 a.m. to 8:50 a.m.  Ms. Dalton is currently coordinating the September schedule. The commitment could be as little as one day month or more depending on your availability.  If you already have your Police Clearance you can start volunteering right away.  If anyone is interested please contact Ms. Dalton at bfdalton@cbe.ab.ca.
