Report cards went home today! Please make sure to check your child’s backpack for the white report card envelope.  After reading the report please sign and return the envelope only, as we will be reusing them for final reports in June.

Today we were artists and practiced exploring the art of chalk pastels. We created a background for our project on “The snowy day”.  We also finished up our Math stories and some of us have worked with a partner on uploading them into Iris. We will finish uploading our work tomorrow. Our stories were so great we just had to share them.

Today we had a visit from our reading buddies and did some beautiful snowflake art. Jesse L. and Alexandra did an amazing job with their “Circle of Courage” today. Great job you two!!
We read a fractured fairytale in relation to Cinderella, following which we did some reflective sketching in our visual journal.


 Monday we will be presenting our community helper skits or presentations. Students are welcome to bring in props from home to help with their character. For example, a librarian may need a set of spectacles, or a garbage collector, a pair of gloves.

IMPORTANT:  Tomorrow is our ATP fieldtrip to “The slipper” is tomorrow!  

Please sign and return the blue permission slip that went home on Tuesday and send it with your child tomorrow morning if you have not already.
Please send an extra snack with your child’s lunch, as we will be having an early lunch. Parent volunteers there is an orientation for you tomorrow morning at 9:25am, so please arrive at the school before 9:25am. Parent volunteers, just a reminder to bring your own lunch and water.

*******IMPORTANT: there is a blue form in your child’s folder (unless you already returned it) Please read the contents and sign either YES my child will be attending or NO my child will not be attending the fieldtrip on Thursday. This needs to be returned tomorrow Wed. Dec. 7.

Today we read “The Snowy Day” by Ezra Jack Keats. Students had an opportunity to express what “Peter”, the character in the story, did on a snowy day and what they would do on a snowy day.
